Creative writing Tutoring
Tutoring is common for math, chemistry, any of the sciences, English, any language, and any formal exam (GRE, SAT, etc.). Tutoring for the arts is unusual, but, I believe, just as important. I know dozens of writers and artists who receive little or no training for the art they practice. When I was younger and struggling, I had the fortune to have access to Rio Hondo College and John Hahn to teach me about creative writing. My father took John Hahn's classes, enrolling in college in order to do it. I knew other people in my classes, and my father knew people in his classes, who did the same.
With the internet, this is no longer necessary. There is a pervasive interest in creative writing instructions and, I would argue, this instruction would be more desirable outside a university or junior college environment. In a personal setting, more valuable work can be done. There is no risk of intimidation which could occur in a classroom setting, and one-on-one instruction is always more thorough and specialized.
I love creative writing and I love working with people with their writing and discussing writing. I am willing to tutor online in a variety of ways: email, chat, Skype. I would be willing to work with groups on larger creative projects.
