Paintings

Acrylic Paintings on Canvas or Canvas Board

Though I primarily use acrylic paint, of varying cost and consistency, I also employ coarse texture gel, molding paste, rocks, aquarium glass rocks, plastic toys, and, of course, glitter.  I prefer to use palate knives, but I have also grown fond of toothpicks, occasional brushes, Starbucks lid toppers, and my fingers.

Two very wise conceptual art professors observed, years ago, that my art lacks myself.  I was not present in my work.  I have sought to fix that problem.
My philosophy, manifesto, and excuses

Personal Experiences in Psychotherapy

Picture
Therapy, including EMDR therapy, memories, failed memories, struggling memories.

The Family

Picture
Realistic portraits would say nothing about these people.

Assorted Abstracts

Picture
How else, except through abstraction, am I to paint how I feel in the morning?

The Ocean

Picture
The ocean is an experience that sometimes needs a variety of colors and textures.

Barbie Art

Picture
A little lesbian, a little cannibalistic, and a lot goddess.

Toy Stories

Picture
Of course, paintings need toys.  The addition of toys do make them optional "flat paintings".  Meaning, they can sit on tables rather than be hung.

Constructions

UFOs

Picture
Picture
Where a canvas painting meets three dimensional construction.
I have never seen a UFO, but my father did.
